Club Risk Assessments

The RSC Safety Process requires that before any new activity or operation is carried out a suitable and sufficient risk pre-assessment and on the day assessment is done and any high risks identified are mitigated before proceeding.

Written Risk pre-assessments have been completed for key activities. They are recorded in the Manual below and for convenience they are also viewable as web documents on mobile devices to make them as easy as possible to use. Members should have read and understood the appropriate risk pre-assessment before carrying out that activity and Members also need to carry out their own risk assessment on the day to update the pre-assessment for current conditions and changes. Training is available to give Members the skills to do this.

If a change to the written Risk pre-assessment is thought appropriate by a Member then they should notify secretary@ripon-sc.org.uk.

If it is found that a risk assessment is unsuitable or insufficient for any reason then this should be brought to the attention of the lead coordinator for the day, the Commodore, Sailing Secretary or the Youth and Junior Secretary for review and possible amendment.
