Operator

Only trained operatives to use the equipment. Equipment to be regularly inspected and maintained, including annual statutory inspection to comply with LOLER regulations. Winches only to be used for launching and recovery of craft into boatshed. Winch hooks to be clipped on open side uppermost to direct them downwards in event of failure. Suitably located winch to be selected to minimise pull angle.

Club Members in the vicinity of the operation

Winch operator is responsible for safety of other members assisting in launching and recovery operations. Bystanders not involved in the operation to remain 3m distant from winch cable.
