Discover Sailing 2025
Make 2025 the year that you Discover Sailing! Monday 5th May 2025 10am - 4pm. Come and try sailing at Ripon Sailing Club - take a trial sail, cruise the lake in a power boat, see the radio-controlled yachts. Refreshments and bar available all day. Easter Egg Gold/Silver/Bronze Regatta this Sunday - 20th April!
Don't forget that this Sunday is our annual Easter Egg Regatta with Gold, Silver and Bronze fleets all sailing for Easter eggs and chocolates. There will be three handicap races, commencing at 11.00, with separate starts for each fleet, provided there are at least three boats in each fleet. Come along and join the fun!

Champion of Champions! - Sunday 13th April
This Sunday is the Champion of Champions event for those who came first or second in an eligible club series or one-day event in 2024. There will be three handicap races, with those under 18 receiving a junior classification. Everyone else who wants to sail, is encouraged to join in the 'Others' fleet, which will start after the main fleet. A list of qualifiers is available in the club calendar link for the event

Streaker Open Meeting Report
Three visiting boats from Rutland, Girton and Beaver SC joined 16 home boats for Ripon SC's annual Streaker Open, which was being run as part of the Northern Paddle and Yorkshire series on Saturday 5th April. Blue skies and sunshine greeted competitors along with a pleasant Force1-2 wind. The only problem was the direction, which was from the north, swinging easterly as the day went on. DISCOVER SAILING
On Monday 5th May we will join many other RYA affiliated clubs hosting a 'Discover Sailing' event. We haven't run this event for a couple of years and hope that 2025 will bring a fresh influx of new sailors to join us. Tony Cawood 1945 -2025 - Thank you from Marion and Children's Sailing Trust
Following the funeral of Tony Cawood, his wife Marion would like to express her grateful thanks to all those members, past and present, of Ripon Sailing Club for their support, kind words and especially those who came to say farewell to Tony at his funeral service on 25th March. Racing Rules Refresher and we need your trophies back!
Just a reminder that the annual Racing Rules Refresher will be held on Saturday 15th March, commencing at 17.00hrs. The talk will be presented by Oscar Shilling and will cover the changes in the new 2025-28 RRS as well as going over the basics of the rules, so there will be something for everyone. Icicle Series 3&4 Rescheduled to Sunday 2nd March

IOM Open Meeting 25th January
Ripon SC hosted its first IOM open on Saturday 25 th January. The wild winds of storm Eowyn the previous day had given way to bright sunshine and a gentle breeze as competitors rigged their boats. 17 boats entered, including 3 from the host club.
