    Racing Rules Review with Fish & Chip Supper Saturday 16th March

  • Latest news - More sprint racing, RO training and we want your trophies back!

    The next sprint race trial will be on Sunday 10th March. Please be rigged and ready to start at 10.30a.m. We will run a number of races to finish around 12.30. This will give time to pack up and get changed, have lunch and then move on to RO training in the afternoon, commencing at 1.30pm.     Final Slipway Concreting Work Party this Saturday 24th February 2024.

    Following last Saturday's very well supported concrete work party where three bays were concreted we now have just two bays remaining to finish the slipway works. I would like to thank every member who has helped undertake these works, the new slipway has made a massive difference to the launching of boats. One final push is required to complete the job. So I am appealing to members to come down this Saturday

  • Short Format Racing Trials Sunday 18th February

    As you may know, we are looking to introduce short format racing within the racing programme later in the year. This is seen as a way of providing an exciting alternative to normal racing as well as a stepping stone for new sailors to transition into the main fleet racing.     Sailing Starts this weekend!

    After two very productive working parties, it's time for a sail! The Icicle series of 6 races starts this weekend, Sunday 4th February, with two back to back races, commencing at 11.00. Remember that under the byelaws, "Full wetsuits, dry-suits or sailing clothing of an appropriate thermally insulating nature must be worn whilst sailing or on safety boat duty between 1st November and 31st March".   • New Year's Day Championship

    RYA Volunteer Awards 2023

    Congratulations to Ripon Sailing Club's proud award winners - Jamie and Nicky Kerslake for their "Outstanding Contribution" award, particularly for their efforts during the Covid pandemic and Chris Wright for his "Lifetime Commitment" award in recognition of his unstinting contribution over more than 20 years to the smooth running and general positive atmosphere of the Club. The award ceremony took place on 10 November at the Institute of Civil Engineers in London.

    Wagalers - the last day of the Autumn Handicap Series

    Today we celebrated the last day of the Wagalers Autumn Handicap Series with 24 boats on the water, the series prize-giving and a delicious contribution buffet. Arthur Nowell won the Silver fleet rosette and David Wyvill won the Bronze fleet. Chris Wright won gold but was absent, apparently busy getting in shape in preparation for Sunday's Champion of Champions Event.
