Youth & Junior
Ripon Sailing Club has a thriving youth, junior and pre-sailor community and benefits from over 30 years of investment by the club in young sailors. The objective is to foster a life-long love of sailing and to promote the social and physical benefits of sailing in all our young members and their families. To do this, the emphasis is on safe, fun activities which encourage social interaction as well as improving sailing skills.
Ripon Sailing Club recognises the achievements of all our young sailors, from first efforts to national and international competitors. The club prides itself on having an inclusive, happy and friendly atmosphere and we encourage our young sailors to behave in a sensible, responsible and considerate manner when on site or representing the club.
The club provides a wide range of activities which allow our youngsters to grow, both in their sailing experience and personally. As their skills develop our young sailors are encouraged to make the most of opportunities the sport can offer, both at the club and across the region. Ripon Sailing Club also regularly hosts regional youth and junior sailing events, including class training days as well as competitive sailing events.
The pages in this section of the website have more information on the structure of the Youth & Junior sailing at Ripon and some general information for parents about equipment, boats and sailing events. The club has a Y&J mailing list and newsletters are sent out about once a month. The club also has a Facebook page and members group and there is a club Y&J WhatsApp group which is used for last minute arrangements and updates to plans. For access to any of these club communication channels please email firstname.lastname@example.org
