Race Series and Events
The Ripon SC season involves organised racing on most Sundays, Wednesdays and occasionally Saturdays. Across the season racing is contested for either a significant number of races, run over a number of weeks/months, constituting a Series, or One/two-day events of just a few races. Each race series or event will be divided into a number of classes, for either a specific type of dinghy or Fleets of a group of dinghies with a similar Portsmouth Yardstick (PY). Trophies are awarded, at the Club's annual Prize Giving, for each specified Class/Fleet in each Series or Event. If in doubt please check the Club events Calendar to ensure you know what's going on, and the Race Officer on the day to make sure you understand the racing format. Please check start times in the calendar, as some events start at 11.00 and others at 11.30
