Launch crew, fire stewards

Ensure crew are wearing suitable non-flammable clothing and have sufficient light to be able to work safely. Provide tapers for lighting fireworks. First aid kit to be provided in launch area, dedicated first aider appointed. Launch team briefed on safety controls prior to event commencing.

Guests and Club Members attending the event

Define and segregate no go zone for launch area and bonfire. Appoint stewards to ensure no-go zone is maintained. First aid station in clubhouse with dedicated first aider present.

Fire Breakout

Guests, Members and Club property

Stewards to be provided with fire beaters. Stewards to be in radio contact with control point to facilitate evacuation if required.

Inhalation of Fumes

Guests and Members

Fire to be constructed from non-toxic materials. No-go zone to provide air break.

Fire Collapse

Guests and Members

Fire to be constructed by identified team and constructed to minimize risk of collapse. No-go zone to be set to ensure that any such collapse would be within the no-go zone.

Residual Fire

Guests and Members

Watch officers to be appointed to ensure that the dying fire continues to be monitored, that the no-go zone is maintained and that any fire creep is extinguished.
