Ripon Sailing Club was formed in 1957 with a very clear focus on family sailing. Initially sailing on the River Ure at Langthorpe the club eventually moved to the south lake at Farnham when the creation of the Boroughbridge by-pass created issues with wind on the river. The club then moved to it’s current location – then a working gravel pit – at the north lake in Farnham.
The club is an RYA Teaching Establishment, and offers a wide range of dinghy and powerboat related courses to it’s members. The family friendly nature of the club is also recognised by our RYA Champion Club status. Club members are able to enjoy access to the facilities 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and there’s a packed programme of on and off the water activities. Racing takes place on Wednesday afternoons and evenings throughout the summer, and on Sundays all year round.
The club is also home to an active fleet of Dragon Force 65 model yachts, if you would like to find out more about racing model yachts at Ripon, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org
