RC Yachting

Welcome to the RC Yachting Fleet page, this is the place to find out what we are doing when, keep up to date with the racing or simply find out more about the RC Yachting fleet.

We are currently sailing
DF65's on Wednesday mornings from 10-30am
IOM on Friday mornings from 10-30am

DF65 racing will move to the summer racing slot on Wednesday 3rd April (4-30pm start time)

From Spring through to Autumn, while the Wagalers afternoon dinghy series is taking place, DF65 racing starts at around 4.30pm every Wednesday. We usually manage to sail around 8 or 10 short sharp races every week so there is always a chance to recover from that poor start or mark rounding with the next port flyer never more than 10 minutes away.
From October to March racing takes place on Wednesday mornings from 10-00am (Racing starts at 10-30am) to about 1-00pm.

If you are interested in joining in, just turn up on one of our race days or e-mail we are always keen to see more members taking part.
Yachts come almost ready to race and start around £230-00 including the radio control and batteries, second hand yachts can often be found for much less, if you are thinking of buying a yacht do come and talk to us first so we can make sure you don't spend more than you need to.

DF65 Racing Results are posted here:

DF65 Rigs
RSC DF65 Owners have now agreed to make use of the A+ rig for their yachts, this will allow us to continue to race even when the fickle RSC winds are at their lightest.
Three rigs can now be used in our racing series, these are A+, A or B

IOM (International One Meter) yachts are a recent introduction here at RSC, we currently have 7 helms racing regularly with a few guests sailing on Friday mornings.
Just like the DF65 these yachts provide some exciting and close racing so we are hoping to grow the fleet by attracting more new members to this much larger yacht.

RC Yacht helms must be MYA (Model Yachting Association) members so that they have the mandatory 3rd party insurance cover, MYA membership is currently £14-00 a year
