Record numbers take to the water for Fleet Trophy Day

Published 07:40 on 2 Jul 2018

A massive 51 boats took part in our Fleet Trophy Day on 1 July. With strong turnouts in all our major fleets just 3 boats were left to compete for the Wakeman Shield (for any class with less than 3 boats entered). A great day of racing was enjoyed by all, with the wind providing thrills and spills for those who weren't watching out for the pretty savage and unexpected gusts! An especially big thank you to all those who lent boats to enable others to compete, or who took out novice crews to get them into racing - particularly the Youth and Junior helms in our growing Mirror fleet. Trophy winners were: Edward Smith (Tera), Tom Moss (Topper), Richard and Millie Pryke (Enterprise), Bernard Clark (Solo), Chris Wright (Streaker), Richard Oliver (Laser), Fiona and George Spence (Mirror), James and Steph Ricketts (RS200), Andrew Benn (Wakeman).
