Parent Volunteering and Skills Development

Ripon SC is run by members, for members and as such we rely on our members to complete a range of volunteer duties to allow us to safely deliver our programs of activities. This is particularly true for our youth & junior activities, which often require additional shore-based roles in addition to the regular race office and safety boat teams.

The club will always support the parents of young sailors who want to gain additional RYA qualifications and regularly holds club specific and RYA powerboat courses to help club members become safe and confident safety boat drivers. Several of the shore-based parent helper roles do not require sailing experience, including some of the race office jobs.

Details of required volunteer roles are sent out in the weeks leading up to each event by email.
