Commodore's Weekend and Annual Prizegiving Saturday 7th/Sunday 8th June 2024

With only a few weeks to go until Commodores Weekend I felt it was time to let the members know exactly what to expect from the weekend.

Camping will be available on the field from the Friday night throughout the weekend, subject to weather.

Commodore's weekend kicks off at 10.30 on the Saturday with a briefing. As last year I have decided to run separate races for Juniors (under 18 on the day) and Seniors, I will also be running a novice race for those that don't feel competent enough to start with the more experienced sailors.

Racing programme is as follows:

Saturday:

10.30 Briefing for all competitors.

11.00 Senior Commodore's Cup Race 1

11.03 Junior Commodore's Cup Race 1

11.06 Novice's Commodore's Race 1

12.30 Lunch please bring a picnic.

13.00 Senior Commodore's Cup Race 2

13.03 Junior Commodore's Cup Race 2

13.06 Novice's Commodore's Race 2

14.30 Senior Commodore's Cup Race 3

14.33 Junior Commodore's Cup Race 3

14.36 Novice's Commodore's Race 3

18.00 Commodore's BBQ

19.30 Annual Prize Giving followed by a quiz capably run by Gail Jackson

Sunday:

11.00 Senior Commodore's Cup Race 4

11.03 Junior Commodore's Cup Race 4

11.06 Novice's Commodore's Race 4

12.00 Lunch Please Bring a Picnic

13.00 Senior's Commodore's Cup Race 5

13.03 Junior's Commodore's Cup Race 5

13.06 Novice's Commodore's Race 5

14.30 Senior's Commodore's Cup Race 6

14.33 Junior's Commodore's Cup Race 6

14.36 Novice's Commodore's Race 6

Of the six races the best four results will count in each fleet.

I really hope you are able to attend, this will be a great weekend with loads going on and a good opportunity to meet up and get to know your fellow members, particularly if you are new to the club.

Food for the evening meal needs to pre-ordered. We have employed outside caterers to provide a BBQ and a choice of puddings. Tickets are £10 per child under ten, £15 per child aged ten to sixteen and £19.50 per adult. Please visit the website to book or contact Gail Jackson - social@ripon-sc.org.uk or book through the website, you will need to be logged in via the portal in order to book.
