Race Series Summary

As we move into the summer holidays and the Holiday Series racing its time for a quick look back at what's happened in the racing calendar so far. The Icicle series is now a distant memory, Wednesday evening series 1 has been completed and the Saturday, Sunday and WAGALERS Spring and Summer series have also all finished.

A total of 88 sailors have taken part in at least one of the 92 series races, with an impressive 910 results recorded, excluding OOD scores. Only one person has managed to complete at least one race in every single series, although 5 sailors have managed to take part in 6 out of the 8 series. Fifteen Junior (U16) sailors have completed at least 1 series race, with 6 of those sailors still in primary school. Four Youth sailors have also taken part.

Thirteen indecisive people have recorded results as helm in two or more boats and at least three people have recorded results as both a helm and a crew. No one has yet qualified for the same series in two different boats although it is mathematically possible, so its a challenge for someone!

The best attended series so far was the Summer Sunday series with 47 sailors and 196 recorded results. Overall 47 sailors have recorded a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in one or more series races, although the 8 series wins are shared between only 4 names.
