The Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation was founded to commemorate Andrew aka Bart who tragically drowned whilst practising for the America's Cup. The foundation seeks to drive forward our sport through getting more people afloat and this year we have a DI course which the ASSF are funding - their generosity will help us get more Instructors trained up which means we can get more people sailing. We will celebrate with a 'Northern Soul' evening at the club on 16 September (bring some food to BBQ and come prepared to dance the night away - the bar will be open too!), and then our traditional 'as many boats as we can muster' race on Sunday 17th at 11am. You don't have to be a champion to take part, it's the more the merrier and you can dress up if you want! Face painting, games, lots of laughter and lots of donations make for a great event!
