An email has been sent to members this morning (25/09) detailing changes to the sailing format for the rest of the season, please see the extract below;

Sailing Format

Following a virtual meeting of the COVID working group on Wednesday 23rd September, and ratification subsequently by the Committee, we have agreed to make some changes to the sailing format for the remainder of the season.

With effect from Sunday 27th September 2020, we will make the following changes:

- Kickstarter will run separately from main racing for the remainder of the season. It will commence earlier at 1000 (previously 1030) and aim to be off the water with boats in berths for 1145.

- The popular RNLI pursuit series will then start at 1215. This allows Kickstarter to be clear of the beach prior to sailors for the RNLI series launching.

- Two short handicap races will follow the RNLI pursuit race, as close to back to back as reasonably possible.

- RC sailing on Wednesday and Friday will continue to use the deck but sail from numbered platforms. Whilst this activity is in progress, please can I ask that members keep clear of the deck edge to facilitate good social distancing.

These changes reduce pressure on the shared spaces and will allow everyone more space to spread out. It will also reduce pressure on our duty teams in the shared space of the race office and on the safety boats.
