Icicle 3&4 Cancelled

Most of you will have read today's news articles, and seen the images of Storm Eunice lashing the country. With this in mind, as well as having reviewed the current available forecasts, it is with a heavy heart that Committee have agreed the planned racing is to be cancelled.

In view of the wind strength and direction, I would strongly urge those of you who have boats at the club to ensure they are tied down, and that covers are secured.

I am grateful to Alan Cage and James Wild who have checked on the site today, and have replaced tie downs, as well as recovered a number of boats that had come off their trailers. Whilst the Committee make every effort to ensure the dinghy park is safe, it is the owners ultimate responsibility to ensure their boats are tied down...

For those of you planning to race at the weekend, I appreciate that this is not the email you wanted to receive, but I hope by notifying you early of the Committee decision, it will allow you to plan other activities into your weekend.
