Announcing the passing of Alan Cage

It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to announce that Alan Cage has sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning after a short illness.

Many of you will know Alan, whose dinghy sailing knowledge was gained over several decades. Alan has always been a great asset to the club, as Bosun for the last five years or so, looking after the powerboat and training fleets, a sailing instructor and competitive racer. Alan did an enormous amount for the club, introducing many potential members to the club, always there to help others, always there to give anyone a trial sail and to impart his knowledge and experience in such a generous way, for which we should all be very grateful.

Funeral details and other relevant information will be notified in due course when known.

On behalf of the entire Club, I offer our sincere condolences to Alan's family.
