Saturday 7th August. Taster sails will take place between 10:00 and 14:00

Our taster sails are an opportunity for non members to give dinghy sailing a try before deciding whether you wish to become a member of Ripon Sailing Club and join one of our beginner RYA courses. Our courses are not available to non members.

One of our experienced sailors will take you out in a dinghy suitable for up to 3 adults or children. The sail will last around an hour or just over. If the conditions are suitable participants will be able to have a go at helming the boat under instruction. No previous experience necessary. Note this is not a "Taster lesson".

These taster sails cost £30 for one person or £50 for up to three people. If the group size is more than 3, you will need to either share the one hour time slot or book two separate sessions.

If you join Ripon Sailing Club within a month of the taster sail, the cost of the sail will be deducted from your membership fee. However we have seen a big demand for our beginner courses this summer and all our beginner courses are fully booked.

Once dates and times are confirmed a "ticket" will be made available on our website so you can book and pay for your session via Paypal. Payment must be received before the sail.

If the weather conditions are unsuitable for taking novices for their sail, (eg no wind, too much wind, persistant heavy rain) we will postpone the sail and make alternative arrangements for when we have an instructor available.

Please note that we are a members sailing club, with no paid staff manning an office. You may not receive an instant reply to any taster sail request. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
