RYA Start Racing Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st May 09:30 – 17:00 Adults and teenagers This course is for sailors who wish to start learning the principals of racing and better boat handling techniques.

2 day course: Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May 09:30 – 17:00
Participants will need to arrive for 09.00 at the very latest, to register, rig boats, be changed and ready for a prompt 09.30 start. Each day will finish around 16.30/17.00
Dinghies, club helmets and buoyancy aids will be provided if required. However if you are committing to begin racing at RSC having your own personal buoyancy aid should be one of your first purchases.
Please bring your RYA logbook to the first session to hand to your instructor. It will be returned at the end of the course.

This “ticket” is for anyone who wanted a training course place on these two days and the courses are fully booked. If we get any cancellations or we are able to offer extra places, we will come to this wait list to fill spare places.

RYA Level 2 (Adults/youngsters ages 16yrs+) 2 day course This ticket is for both days.
Participants should be able to swim and be confident when in water. Participants on this course should be sailing at RYA Adult Level 1 standard. Participants will have the opportunity to further develop their sailing skills. You will be taught by one of our RYA qualified instructors. Each day will be a mix of on shore briefings and on the water activities. Once sailors have achieved this award they are eligible to join the Improver sessions at the Club on selected Saturdays and are eligible to hire club dinghies.

During the course you will become a more confident sailor. On completion you should be capable on the water in windier conditions. After gaining RYA Level 2 you are eligible to hire dinghies from our club fleet when safety cover is operating. Boat hire is booked through online tickets on our website. See “Sailing/club boats” page of the website for details and prices. You will be eligible to attend Saturday improver sessions and join a level 3 course.
RYA Junior Stage 3 (13- 15yrs) 2 day course This ticket is for both days.
Participants should be able to swim and be confident when in water. Participants on this course should be sailing at RYA Junior St2 standard and should have had further sailing experience since gaining the St2 award. Participants will have the opportunity to further develop their sailing skills. You will be taught by one of our RYA qualified instructors. Each day will be a mix of on shore briefings and on the water activities. Once sailors have achieved this award they are eligible to join the Improver sessions at the Club on selected Saturdays and are eligible to hire club dinghies.
