A massive 51 boats took part in our Fleet Trophy Day on 1 July. With strong turnouts in all our major fleets just 3 boats were left to compete for the Wakeman Shield (for any class with less than 3 boats entered). A great day of racing was enjoyed by all, with the wind providing thrills and spills for those who weren't watching out for the pretty savage and unexpected gusts!

but we do have 3 young members who today did a litter picking exercise. Gracie, Ella and Poppy spent the morning picking up litter from around the site - well done girls, what a brilliant job you did! If chairs are removed from the clubhouse to use outside can the member who takes them outside please put them back again.

As some of you will be aware, we are currently looking at a range of boats to identify a suitable replacement for our Quba fleet. We are testing the RS Zest, the Fusion, the Hartley 12 and the Hartley 12-2. Only the Hartley 12 is currently approved for use at the club and we are using the test to identify which of the boats will be suitable for use on our water as

Erica Caswell has let us know that there is a DI course running at Bewerley Park from 23-27 July. The cost is £400 including food and accommodation, or £340 if non residential. Book via Bewerley Park. A great chance to get on a local course.

We were over-run with Commodores at the club today - our current Commodore Bernard Clark welcoming John Wells, David Nutt, Tony Cawood, Phil Cawood, Peter Staples, Vic Hawkins, Malcolm Clements, Dennis Altoft and Ian Smith to the club for the Summer Lunch and our Wednesday afternoon sailing. We bet there aren't many clubs who can put together that sort of gathering!

Don't forget there is a summer lunch at the club on 13 June. This is open to current and former members and you can book tickets on line. A lovely chance to catch up with friends over a summer buffet lunch. The bar will be open serving soft and alcoholic drinks.

The training team are looking at whether or not there is sufficient demand for additional Junior courses in August and would be grateful if members who are interested in learn to sail training for juniors could complete this short survey by 27 June. Dates will then be published with tickets available from early July. The course(s) will only run if there is sufficient demand. Please remember these courses are for members only,

Members will have received a mailing regarding powerboat usage - please make sure you read it and take note of the contents. We are keen to improve our power boating skills at the club and hope more members will take part in our Safety Boat Familiarisation courses, and sign up for the PB2 programmes we will be running in the winter months.
