The gate and clubhouse door are, with immediate effect, only set to auto-open on Sundays. This will remain the case until we get to the start of the 2018 season, so if you are visiting the club at other times please make sure you have your access card with you.

The WAGALERS brought their 2017 season to a close by joining with former members of the club at a lunch in the clubhouse on 8 November. Our Caterers, Vicky and Duncan, and their team provided a two course hot lunch to nearly 50 members and guess. With the bar open and the sun shining the event was declared a great success.

Over half the membership have checked their details and confirmed their renewal for 2018, and today the remaining 48% of members will have been issued with an emailed invoice. Please check your inbox and SPAM folders to make sure you don't miss your bill. It would be greatly appreciated if members could pay by 30 November - it means a lot of work for the membership and duty rostering teams chasing late payers

The recent high winds have been busy causing chaos across the country - have you checked your boat is ok if it's in the boat park? Please make sure you make regular checks on your boat to make sure it doesn't damage itself, or adjacent boats, in the high winds.

Members are reminded that the club rules require that dogs are kept on a lead whilst at the club and (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed in the clubhouse at any time. Whilst the majority of members respect the rule a number of members are causing issues by allowing their dogs free rein around the club grounds.

Congratulations to Ian and Alex Gore (visitors from Up River YC), who were worthy winners of the N12 Open meeting yesterday - nailing the event with 3 firsts and showing their mastery of the boat in some very windy conditions. Philip David and Emma Hampshire (Ripon SC) were second overall.

Our renewals process is well underway and within a week of launching it over 20% of you have rejoined, and we have had just 1 resignation. If anyone has any questions about the process Jennie will be at the club on Sunday afternoon and will be able to deal with any questions you may have about the process.

A big fleet of 24 Streakers sailed in the Open at Ripon Sailing Club on Saturday 30 September. For the first race there was a light but steady Southerly, so the RO set a windward/leeward course, but a big shift to SW before the start led to a postponement for a course change. A group of about 6 boats, including a couple of Ripon Streakers, got slightly ahead
