Club of the Year Voting
Voting for the 2021 Club of the Year Award closes on Monday 25 January. We shared the exciting news with you before Christmas that we had been selected as the regional finalist in this competition. There are 10 finalists, one for each region in the UK. The award is jointly promoted by the RYA and Yachts & Yachting and is sponsored by Gallagher who is a leading insurance provider within the marine industry.

National Lockdown - January 2021
The following words were sent to members from Jamie Kerslake, Commodore. It will come as no surprise to members that following the Prime Minister's announcement yesterday evening, Ripon Sailing Club must close once again to support the national effort in reducing the spread of COVID19. Tony Richardson
We are very sorry to have to inform members that Tony Richardson passed away following a heart attack on the Friday before Christmas. Tony, and his wife Gaye joined the sailing club in 1974 and soon became active members. Tony sailed an Enterprise which was the largest and most competitive class in the club at that time. He travelled round the country with other members to race meetings and really enjoyed the annual trip down

National Lock Down - Statement
Following the most recent Government announcement of a national lock down between 5th November 2020 and 2nd December 2020, I am writing to you all this evening to make you aware that we must now close our sailing club for this period. As of 11pm 4th November 2020, our access system will be switched off and access to the grounds, water and facilities of Ripon Sailing Club will be prohibited until 2nd December 2020.

Champion of Champions Event Postponed
Sunday 1st October 2020 - Champion of Champions Event Cancellation Sadly, due to the wind forecast for Sunday, Committee has taken the decision to postpone the event. We hope to be able to sail the 2020 'C of C' trophy when all the eligible members can attend the club at a future date. Peter Staples, a tribute from two former Commodores
It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of former Commodore Peter Staples at the age of 89. Peter took the helm of the club at a crucial time in its development, working for Tilcon who were quarrying the lake he helped secure us our tenancy of the water, and laid in place the plans for our current clubhouse, opened during the term of his successor Commodore,
