This is an advanced session of race training run by the club’s race coach team. It is open to all club members but you must meet the capability criteria below. All members who have participated in training or coaching in 2018 have been contacted if they meet this criteria. If you have not received an email from the club inviting you to this session, please contact the race coach team via junior@ripon-sc.org.uk before you book; the race coach team will politely decline your place on this session if you do not meet the capability criteria as the session has been designed for racers who have some experience of racing already; other race training sessions will be held later in the season to accommodate less experienced racers.

Participation Criteria:
You must have your own boat and it must be in good working order.
You must be participating regularly in club racing (not Kickstarter/Launchpad) and have entered at least 1 open event in 2018.
You must be competent in a range of winds and understand how to rig the boat to suit the conditions.
You must be prepared to go out sailing when it is windy & cold.
You must be familiar with the racing rules and have a copy of the current rule book.
You must be able to roll tack/gybe and be able to progress round the race course without input from others.
You must be able to recover your boat from a full inversion capsize without input from the safety boat in the majority of situations.
You must have a stop watch/timer and know how to use it.
You must have suitable winter sailing kit, the coaching team will not allow you to participate if you arrive with inadequate kit.
Double handers are welcome, this criteria applies to both helm & crew and both must book onto the session.
