COVID-19

Published 21:27 on 13 Mar 2020

Committee has discussed the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis that is now having a significant impact on the country. From Government information yesterday, cancelling activities at the club will currently will not have a significant effect on the transmission of the virus. Thus, our regular racing, training, open meetings and other activities will continue as planned but the Committee is monitoring Government advice closely and will let you know as soon as possible if we have to change our approach. We are ensuring that the clubhouse facilities are maintained to a high hygiene standard with plenty of hand washing provisions.

If you are visiting the club, we request that all members adhere to the Government's advice regarding infection control and if you have a constant cough or high temperature, which are the key indicators for the virus, we encourage you to follow the advice regarding self-isolation.

We also suggest that if you personally are in a situation where you or an immediate family member has low immunity to disease or infection to please consider whether it is wise for you to temporarily restrict your own social activities to minimise the risk to yourself and your loved ones.

More information can be found on the Government's Covid-19 Information website.

At times of crisis, family and friendship is so important and the club's ethos of friendship and unwavering support remains at the heart of everything we do and stand for. If you need support during this time, whether it be a friendly chat on the phone or more practical support in the coming weeks, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Committee and fellow members for help and assistance.

Best wishes.
