Webcam update - 05/06/09
As you can see below we now have 3 cameras up and running
again. A fourth camera will be in place very soon.
If you can't get down to the club, watch the action
from the comfort of your armchair with streaming video
from the webcams that cover most aspects of the lake.
The
webcams above have a built-in web servers which makes
them completely independent of any other equipment.
This results in a better quality image and more consistent
refresh rate. A side issue of this is that some computer
networks, anti virus and firewall applications may
block
access to the operating system ports that the webcam
uses to stream the data which can prevent the image
being displayed.
One reason that can prevent the image being displayed is
if the Java Runtime Environment is either
not installed on your computer or is not the latest version.
To check the version or install the JRE, click here.
This will direct you to the Java website. Follow the instructions
to install or check your version.
If JRE is installed, then it is possible that Anti
Virus or Firewall software is blocking data coming
in. For the technically minded you need to ensure the ports
85 and 8085 are 'allowed' in any such software for the jetty
cam to be displayable and port 8888 for the lake cam to be
displayable.
