This early in the new season this page currently provides a taste of what happens at RSC over a typical season

24.11.07 Laying up Supper/Prize Giving was held at the Holiday Inn in Harrogate and well attended at this new venue with 105 members & partners present for an excellent meal followed by a short speech from Commodore Tony Cawood, prize-giving with prizes presented by Sailing Secretary Alan Jones & partner Cathryn Britton followed by the raffle. Thanks must go to Vice Commodore Richard Gegg for arranging the venue and the Social sub-committee and everyone else involved for the hard work in organising this memorable final social event of the 50th anniversary year. 14.11.07 Sailing Forum
A well attended meeting of members talked through ideas for improving things next season. Hot topics were RO training, to improve course setting and race management, the format of commodores weekend, the integration of juniors into club racing via the Volvo series, fleet status and fleet captains.

14.07.07 YHYSA Final Event - An excellent days racing, starting off overcast but gradually improving throughout the day. The event results are here... & the full series results can be found here.... Yachts & Yachting report here...

07.07.07 National 12 Big Summer Event & Club Barbeque - A very successful weekend with strong winds on Saturday providing some very spectacular racing and plenty of spills, breakages and some near sinkings! Sunday produced calmer conditions, but still provided good sailing. Pictures here... & results here.... Yachts & Yachting Report.

23.06.07 50th Anniversary Regatta. A successfully event with over 60 competitive entries. Brisk conditions on Saturday gave way to extremely light conditions on Sunday leading to shortened races. Photographs here... & results here... Yachts & Yachting Report.

16.06.07 Car Treasure Hunt - Cancelled due to severe flooding on some parts of the route!! This event will be run later in the season when a space in the calendar can be found, watch this space.

10.06.07 Methuselah & Junior Trophy events were run on a frustratingly windless day which saw burgees spinning round on the masts as what little breeze there was became very shifty. Results can be found here...

09.06.07 Sailing Tryout Day. This was a great success with a really good turnout and lots of boat swapping going on! The Commodore was even seen in a number of modern performance single and double handers but concluded that the Enterprise was still the one for him!.

26.05.07 10 Hour Endurance Race, was a great success, 8 teams, 34 participants and a good days racing. Conditions were fresh in the morning, dropping off a little in the afternoon and finally dying at around 19:00 coinciding with the end of the race. Social barbeque followed. Thanks should go for the efforts of the catering team in providing the food for the evening. Results of the race can be found here....

13 of the club's former commodores gather together with many key figures and former members from the club's history to celebrate 50 years of sailing, friendship and happy memories.

21.04.07 Topper Open Meeting was a great success, 26 boat turnout, 12 from RSC. Surprisingly consistent wind force and direction provided near ideal conditions and very competitive racing. Katy Shepherd retained the 'Top Hat' trophy, narrowly beating Oliver Wright with the results for the top places very close indeed. Special mention must go to Dave Gebhard who achieved 3rd place despite it being his first time ever in a Topper. Club results are here. 14.04.07 RS200 Open Meeting. Light airs meant that the racing was rather subdued. Nevertheless, three Windward/Leeward courses were run after an initial postponement which provided some good competition. Results can be found here.

28.03.07 Champion of Champions Trophy & 'Others' 2006 re-run. Blustery conditions caused challenging sailing. in the first two races, calming down a bit by the third race. The results can be seen here.
